Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the IncogSnap app and website. By using IncogSnap you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
IncogSnap lets you and friends you already know connect directly in a private room, using a one-time 6-digit code, QR code or invite link, to exchange messages, photos and video that self-destruct. There are no user accounts and no way to search for or be matched with other people. Messages and photos travel between devices and are not stored on our servers.
2. Eligibility
IncogSnap is for people aged 17 and over. By using the app you confirm that you are at least 17 years old (or older, if the minimum age in your country to use online services without parental consent is higher). If you are under 17, do not use IncogSnap.
3. Acceptable use
IncogSnap is meant for communicating with people you know. You agree to share room codes, QR codes and links only with people you know and trust, and not to use IncogSnap to:
- contact, meet or chat with strangers, or publicly post, broadcast or sell room codes or links so that strangers can join;
- share, request or promote child sexual abuse or exploitation material, or any content that sexualizes minors;
- harass, threaten, stalk, blackmail or abuse another person, or share intimate images without the subject’s consent;
- share content that is illegal, or that promotes violence, terrorism or self-harm;
- infringe others’ intellectual property or privacy rights;
- send spam or scams, impersonate others, or attempt to defraud anyone;
- reverse engineer, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, its infrastructure or other users’ devices.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Such content is strictly prohibited. See our Child Safety Standards for how to report concerns.
4. Self-destruct is not a guarantee
IncogSnap is designed to delete messages and photos after they are viewed, and it asks your device to block screenshots and screen recording. However, no app can prevent a person from photographing a screen with another device, or from remembering or describing what they saw. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. Only connect with people you trust.
Self-destruct, App Lock and Panic Exit are privacy and safety tools that delete data on your own device. They are not intended to help anyone conceal illegal activity or obstruct a lawful investigation, and you must not use them for that purpose.
5. Third-party services
- Gemini AI (optional): the AI enhancement feature works with your own Google Gemini API key. Your use of the Gemini API, including any charges or limits on your key, is governed by Google’s terms. You are responsible for your API key.
- Advertising: the free app shows ads served by Google AdMob, subject to Google’s policies.
- App stores: the app is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store, and their terms also apply to your download and use.
6. Intellectual property
The IncogSnap app, name, logo and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You keep ownership of the content you create and share; because we do not store it, we do not claim any rights to it.
7. Disclaimers
IncogSnap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that a peer-to-peer connection can always be established on every network.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, IncogSnap. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Reporting, enforcement and termination
You can report abuse, a safety concern or a violation of these Terms using Report a problem in the app or by emailing contact@bzotech.com. Because chats are end-to-end encrypted we cannot read them, so please include details such as the time and room code. We review reports and may take action permitted by law, including restricting or ending access to the service, and we cooperate with law enforcement and child-protection organisations, including by reporting suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation as required by law.
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may also restrict or end access to the service if you violate these Terms or if needed to protect users or comply with the law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use IncogSnap after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the IncogSnap publisher is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
